Color is an integral, and often misunderstood, part of visual language. This course, using gouache (opaque water-based paints), offers a unique and comprehensive overview of color theory for artists (beginner through advanced). Weekly exercises will focus on color perception, optics, harmony, color mixing, and live painting. Cultural and socio-historical understandings of color will inform the lessons as well as scientific understandings. Join us in deepening your understanding of human vision and unlock your color potential. Come dig in with us and get your color on!

Here are some of the results from Drawing Fundamentals, Fall II, 2011.
